DR PETER CRONAU : Thermographic Testing

Overview  |  What is Thermography?  |  Thermographic Testing

These images show the variation in heat emissions after the saddle has been ridden in for approximately 30 minutes. Our interest lies in the bearing area of the saddle and how the rider’s weight is being distributed over that bearing area.

TRADITIONAL FILLING

This image shows uneven and asymmetrical weight distribution of a saddle with traditional fillings.

“From the thermographic testing one can see that the pressure is evenly spread across the saddle, providing the best conditions for a seamless contact between the saddle and the horse’s back”

Dr. Peter Cronau

CAIR® CUSHION SYSTEM

This image shows you that the weight distribution is completely symmetrical from one side to the other. Secondly this result proves that the rider’s weight is evenly distributed over the entire length of the panel.

Please note

The thermographic camera automatically grades the colour scale to show maximum variation in heat emissions within the photo taken at any time. Therefore we are not looking for less red, rather constant colour, or minimal variation in colour regardless of what colour it is.
